Invu publish new white paper: “Confused about SharePoint”

Invu have identified that there is much confusion around the whole SharePoint issue, especially with the much anticipated launch of SharePoint 2010 now just six months away. There seems to be general awareness of its capabilities but lack of clarity around the unique benefits it will offer.
Is it an enterprise content management tool? Is it a tool for automation? Is it a document management system? Is it a vehicle for a company intranet? Is it an application to solve content problems generally within businesses?

The white paper demystifies SharePoint. Written by Stuart Evans, Chief Technical Officer at Invu, it examines the different elements within SharePoint and quantifies its capability to provide an enterprise content management solution. Not all businesses will need every aspect of the office automation described in the paper, but the content will help focus on true business needs - to inform independent judgement, choose the right components and deploy a solution that not only gives a healthy ROI, but also provides meaningful tools for the workforce.

Invu and one of their premier Solution Partners, Lindenhouse, co-sponsored The CharterGroup Accountancy Alliance Annual Conference in Bristol on 5th and 6th November.

Louise reported “It was a very friendly event where we were able to talk to our existing customers and also speak with other practices who have been mulling over the prospect of a Document Management Software solution for sometime. It was also good to meet up with several of our mutual Charter Group Business Partners including Practice Web and Caseware. It really was the ideal forum for us”

Invu saves Manleys 20% in administrative overheads

Manleys, a growing Chartered Accountancy Practice in the Midlands have installed Invu document management as part of a wider project to update the practice IT infrastructure.

Manleys are seeing major benefits already. Invu integrates with MYOB, the business and accountancy software, an application that Partners are already very familiar with. Tax Returns, payroll returns and client bookkeeping are generated using MYOB and saved into Invu automatically creating a comprehensive secure archive.

Invu has made working life quicker and easier for both Partners and the administrative team. The practice workload for around 600 clients is processed by just two members of staff, who have access to all client documents. This team generates first line response to client requests making a significant contribution to the efficiency of the practice.

“Invu is one of the key elements of our IT infrastructure and will help ensure we can develop into amodern and responsive accountancy practice”
Chris Windsor, Director

Invu address record management issues for the education sector

We’ve had a positive response from the education sector recently with 25 colleges, academies or universities in the last 3 months expressing an interest in the Invu document management software. The education sector have specific needs, all of which Invu can address.

  • The education sector need to address compliance for records retention from both national and European legislation
  • Colleges and Universities often have disparate back office business systems that require a central accessible records repository
  • Educational establishments traditionally have a huge variety of documents that need storing including student records, examination certificates, landlord certificates, lettings contracts and personal identification documentation.
  • HR and Finance departments are also strategic areas of activity with many managing in the region of 1000 members of staff and operating multi million pound budgets. These areas too need to standardize document retention

Over 60 educational establishments are already seeing the benefits of Invu, one of which is Headlands School in Bridlington. Lorraine Baker, Business Manager commented “We have linked Invu to our internal CMIS Database and the results have been brilliant”
